Latest Updates from Our Project:

Update #14: Matthew is at Gen Con!
10 months ago – Fri, Aug 01, 2025 at 06:07:16 PM

Hey Degenerates,

Happy Gen Con!  I'm not there, but project artist Matthew Myslinski is, and can be found over at Brian Colin's Vast Grimm booth (#1949)!  Look at this devastatingly Mörktacular fellow:

Go check them out!  I'm told we're selling out of the Jumper Cable Edition, Enter the Dismal Armory, and Blood on the Bleak Road fast, so don't delay!

Not much else to say right now.  We're in production on the hardcover.  I know my initial estimate was that the product would be one in August, but there have been numerous unexpected delays, so I don't have a good release date yet.

Oh right, ONE MORE THING.

We have a logo for our 3rd party license.

Expect text by the next update, but it's basically the same thing as you'd expect from the Mörk Borg or Pirate Borg licenses... don't be a bigot or way into sexual violence.

Shout Outs

First up is Rustborn Bastards by Dan Frederick, which I HAVE to push, because it's the first product that will probably use the aforementioned 3rd party license (in addition to Cy_Borg).  I just got DEAD FLESH from Dan

What's the idea?  What if Wasteland Degenerates, but with BOATS?

Rustborn Bastards is launching in September, so bookmark it!

One more this time: TORQUE BORG by Matthew DeMino, a post-apocalyptic game after my own heart.  Wasteland, hot rods, scavenging... the whole radioactive enchilada!

I haven't talked to Mr. DeMino about it yet, but it looks like this is a lower-tech wasteland than Wasteland Degenerates features, which I'm definitely into.  I can't wait to see his rules on vehicular combat, because I'm a nerd about that sort of thing!

I'm not sure when Torque Borg is launching, but I'm definitely paying attention!

Anyway, keep on trucking and I'll have more for you soon.

Update #13: Dice Drops and Origins Stops
11 months ago – Sat, Jun 28, 2025 at 10:37:03 AM

Hey Degenerates,

Not too much to talk about today.  Matthew and I have been working with the international printer to make sure we're providing the needed formats, and I've been writing Rad City Music Brawl... I expect to send Brian Colin some pages to start laying out in a couple weeks.

Zac Goins sent me some of his frankly very cool text for his pages in DUMPSTER DRIVERS.  He had some very cool ideas about "Dice Drops" that I was previously unfamiliar with.  I had basically no notes... the man knows his craft and I am lucky to have him on the team for six whole pages.

Shout Outs

Just a couple have come to my attention this month...

Grim Solitude and Jaws of Madness

Creature Double Feature

On top of helping me with the new zines for the hardcover edition, the Wurm-ridden genius Brian Colin was kind enough to sell the Jumper Cable Edition at the Origins game fair and the least I could do is shout out his latest deep space mission, Kickstarting two new zines, solo rules for Vast Grimm and the next chapter in the Gate of Infinite Stars saga.  Check it out!

Unclean

I feel dirty?
You know Chirstian Eichhorn.  He's a craftsman of Borg content, and if you don't already  have his banger adventure Bergen Chrypt or his creature folio, Monsters!, this is the perfect time to get both in a sweet hardcover format!  But wait, there's more!  You also get an original zine, Sinners (no relation to the movie, probably).  I can't wait, personally.

Catch you later, degenerates!

Update #12: Hammering Away
about 1 year ago – Sat, May 31, 2025 at 07:02:22 AM

Hey Degenerates,

Sorry, it's been awhile since the last update.  Things have been... unusually chaotic... in the United States (to put it mildly), and my day job is affected more than most, so I've been busy on multiple fronts.

That said, we are making progress on the Wasteland Degenerates project.  I'm meeting with the DUMPSTER DRIVERS authors (Brian Colin, Zac Goins, and Phil Jensen) and we hashed out the parameters of the project, who takes what area, etc... it's going to be very cool!  Zac wants to add a bunch of replayability to it, and I'm all on board.

We've also been working out the correct parameters for working with the new printer, which will be a remarkable uptick in quality over the JCE, and worthy to sit on the shelf next to Mörk Borg, Cy_Borg, and Pirate Borg.

Actual Play Podcast

I was so stoked to randomly find that the mad troubadours of Player vs. Entertainment did an Actual Play of the Jumper Cable Edition.  Four episodes under the name Griftan Stink Must Die, and each one is a legally-distinct riot!  Check it out!

Social Media

Now seems to be a good time to ramble off the WD social media list.

The official website is https://wastelanddegenerates.com/

Shout Outs

There are a couple of promising projects currently funding!

Selene Oscure

Did you ever want Mörk Borg, but French, and about the moon crashing into us?  WellSelene Oscure might be the thing for you!  The cool thing about this is that the book is already funded, but this campaign is for an English translation.

How Awful Goodness Is

A new god arises!  This project is already funded,so get in on it now, or face a charge of heresy!

Afterword

I am committed to giving you all the best possible Wasteland Degenerates experience, so please excuse my untimely update, and know that I'm thinking of you all as we implement my original vision of the best post-apocalyptic 'Borg hack we can make!

Update #11: Surveys Sent! Final Stretch Goal Unlocked!
about 1 year ago – Sat, Apr 26, 2025 at 11:00:39 AM

Hey Degenerates,

Short update today. You may have noticed that the BackerKit surveys went out a couple days ago, and we've had a great response, though we still need a lot more of you to check your spam folders and make your selections!

Over 500 of you did confirm your information and some even made additional Add-On requests... which, by the way, brought the total collected on the campaign to be over $50,000!

This, of course, means...

FINAL STRETCH GOAL UNLOCKED!

Did you think I stopped counting when the campaign ended?  Nah; you made it, you deserve it.  As a result, DUMPSTER DRIVERS, the add-on zine, will now be 20 pages instead of 16, which means your favorite authors ZAC GOINS, BRIAN COLIN, and PHILIP JENSEN will all get a couple extra pages to play with each.  Will they just add more adventure? New classes?  Gear?  It's up to them, but I know I'm going to enjoy seeing what they come up with!

DIECAST BREAKDOWN INTERVIEW

I did this interview the day before the campaign ended and honestly I forgot to check on when it went live, but I had a great time talking to the Diecast Media guys about the intersection of toy cars and roleplaying games, and just... loving your hobby, no matter what it is.

Anyway, check it out.  I'll be in touch when there's more updates to share... drive angry... but drive safe out there...

Update #10: Pre-Order Store Open, Survey Smoke Test Sent
about 1 year ago – Mon, Apr 21, 2025 at 07:26:10 PM

Hey Degenerates,

Been awhile since I rapped at 'cha, but things have been moving for sure.  I've been keeping an eye on tariffs and I don't think they'll be hitting us very hard if everything goes to plan, but... well, this timeline is darker than a basilisk's black gullet, so who knows?

Smoke Tests Sent

I just sent out the smoke test for the survey, which means that a small percentage of you (think a critical hit on a d20) will receive the survey and be able to make your selections.  You have an important job to do, though: if something looks weird on the survey or something isn't working, you need to reach out to me so I can fix it before sending the surveys to the whole class.

Pre-Order Store Open

I closed out Kickstarter's Late Pledges and opened up theBackerKit Pre-Order Store.  Folks who missed the campaign can now just go pick up items a-la-carte!  Any item you buy here should include the digital version; if you just want all of the digital content, you can also just pick up the full Digital Collection.

SHOUT OUT

What is it with cool Viking projects these days?  First Ragnaborg, then Berserkr, now Yggdrasil Burns!  I feel like my wallet is going to get blood eagle'd...

Nothing else for you today.  Hang in there, because we're moving into the part where we go into high gear producing the best product possible for you all.  I'll keep in touch with updates, but they may slow down a bit for a few months.  Remember you can always reach out to me here or at [email protected]
